Privacy policy

This policy covers seekhardware.net, run by the SeekHardware team in Malaysia. It was last updated in September 2026.

What we collect

• Nothing you have to give us. There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter box and no forms on this site. You can read every page without handing over anything.
• Standard server and hosting logs. Our host records the usual technical information when a page is served — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. This is what any web server does, and we use it only to keep the site working and to see which pages are being read.
• Anything you put in an email. If you write tohello@seekhardware.net, we have your email address and whatever you chose to tell us. We keep it while we are dealing with it, and we use it to reply to you and nothing else.

What we do not do

• We do not run an advertising network on this site and we do not sell advertising space to third parties who track you.
• We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
• We do not build profiles of readers, and we do not follow you to other sites.
• We do not ask for your location. Choosing a city on this site is a link you click, not a permission we request from your browser.

Cookies

The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we later add basic, aggregated analytics to understand which city pages get used, we will say so here before it goes live and we will pick a tool that does not track individual readers across the web.

Third parties you may reach from here

Listing pages link out to Google Maps for directions, and to a shop's own website, Facebook page or Shopee storefront where one exists. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not ours. Phone numbers are shown as plain text and a tel: link — calling a shop is between you and that shop.

Information about the shops themselves

Business names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours and ratings shown on this site are business contact information, published by those businesses to be found by customers. If you own a listed shop and want its details corrected or the listing removed, email us and we will do it — see contact.

Children

This is a directory of hardware shops. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions go tohello@seekhardware.net.
